Danny Wong

Director of Pickleball Training at Rossmoor Pickleball Club

Growing up playing volleyball at AA/Open level, All-American at Junior National Championship and silver medal at Gay Games Amsterdam, and winning many other VB tournaments, I feel very fortunate to be involved in sports.

I was a winner of the Pacific Cup for GLTF Tennis and Single Champion for Ultimate Tennis League. Unfortunately, I had an injury from tennis and felt horrible not being active for several years. However, pickleball saved my life. I began playing pickleball in 2019 and fell in love with pickleball. Now I greatly enjoy helping others to learn pickleball. I went to obtain my pickleball coaching certification when my club asked me to be certified.

I presently coordinate and lead a drilling clinic three times a week for intermediate, advanced intermediate & advanced level at my club. Also, we have the wonderful opportunity to teach pickleball at some middle schools in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. It is such an exciting experience to help disadvantaged students at their school. I was an educator for over 30 years so it is a joy to work with students again.

I am very grateful to be able to combine my teaching experience and my love of coaching pickleball together. It is always a rewarding time when I have the opportunity to help someone learn pickleball, a sport that changed my life in a transformative way.
